1 Year and 5 Days Old!

8/7/12: Sara Kate made a trip to see Ayda before her birthday!
August 9, 2012: When Ayda woke up on her First Birthday, we sung the Birthday song.
She had Blueberry Pancakes for breakfast!

Then Ayda opened her birthday gifts from Mommy and Daddy!

She loves the bow.
Ayda couldn't get the paper the tear anymore.
She then tried to open the gift bag.
Ayda would take the tissue paper out and then put it back in the bag.

New Pajamas
We helped her finish unwrapping!
She has a farm!
We all hopped into the car.
But today is different, because today Ayda sits forward facing!

Excited about the leg room!

A Happy Birthday Girl
We drove to Oak Mountain State Park. We saw their beach, their owls, and their vultures.
Likes Sunglasses
Making Silly Faces!
Which is good because we didn't go swimming.

Since we gave Ayda a farm, we decided to keep with the farm theme.
We went to the petting farm at the state park.

We just saw the ducks, roosters, and chickens.

Watching the pony eat grass
Ayda didn't pet the pony.
Ayda didn't pet the goat
Looking at the horses

We then all hopped into the car to go visit friends.
We saw Amy and Molly Grace!
Instead of being at the hospital at 11:08 watching you come into this world,
we were celebrating with friends.
Everyone (but Molly Grace) ate Jim N Nicks for lunch to celebrate!

8/10/12: Ayda had her one year check up.
We had a new doctor and practice this time, but it worked out great!
Ayda's New Measurements:
Weight: 18lbs 7oz
Length: 30 in
Head: 7 1/2 in
Ayda is still a tall, skinny girl!

8/11/12: Climbed into the dryer after she emptied it for me.

8/12/12: Ayda grabbed two books and took them to read in her house!

Read them all!
8/12/12: Climbed onto the top of her Auburn Car. Daddy was very nervous watching this!

8/12/12: You are seeing Ayda figure out what a pencil can do
(of course, she figured this out during a church service
and on the back of an offering envelope).
We have her first drawing hanging on our refrigerator.
8/12/12: Ayda had her first PB&J at the reception after the service.
Sticky fingers are a must for a one year old!

8/12/12: Ayda's last night with her bottle and formula!

8/13/12: Ayda and Gram got together this morning.
We found them in the Toys R Us parking lot with a
buggy full of diapers, wipes, a Farm Puzzle, and Ayda's first purse!
As soon as I opened the puzzle, Ayda started trying to figure out where the pieces fit!
She is so excited not to have to carry birthday bags around.
Gram said that Ayda picked this one out.
She tried a few before finding this one.
It's not a Princess purse, it's an Hello Kitty purse!

Thank you, Ayda, for this amazing year! We can't wait to see what happens next!
We Love You!

    1. We are still in transition. With her easy going personality and our easiness to give into her crying, we decided to make this transition quick. We just said no more bottles or formula. Today was her first day to taste whole milk. This first day went well until her night bottle. She did getting very fussy with me. I put more dairy products in her meals today to make up for the very small intake. But I will tell you the outcome (hopefully that will be in two more days).

  2. Reading the blog is always one of the highlights of my week...there is more and more personality in that little body of hers. As I go through the pictures, I like to add my own internal monologue of Josh and her conversing...and it is priceless.
